BAGWORTH, THORNTON AND MERRY LEES NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN MEETING

23RD MAY 2017 - 6.00PM - BAGWORTH COMMUNITY CENTRE

•Would you like to be involved with the future development of your village?

•This is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard

You may be aware that the Government is pursing the concept of "Localism".This has the intention of giving lower level local government a greater say in what happens in the future in its area.In our case, this lower level means the Parish Council.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan? Simply, it's a community led document showing how the community would like to use and develop land within its boundaries. It is a legal document that must meet national and EU legislation. On completion, the plan is submitted to the Borough Council for examination to ensure it meets those legal requirements and is then put to a referendum of parishioners.Only if 50% or more agree will it be adopted.Once adopted, the Borough Council is legally obliged to take it into consideration when deciding upon planning applications.

How You Can Get Involved? In order to create a Neighbourhood Plan we need to set up a Neighbourhood Planning Forum which must be led by the Parish Council but must also include members of the local community.

This is your chance, to become involved in one of the most important and dynamic projects Bagworth, Thornton and Merry Lees Parish Council are undertaking and have your say. If you are interested in becoming a member or would just like to find out a little more about the project please come along to our open meeting at

Bagworth Community Centre
Station Rd, Bagworth, Coalville LE67 1BH

23rd May at 6pm

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO YOUR VILLAGE.
